Ken Takahashi received his PhD from Nagoya University in 2006 and was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (2018–2019), where he deepened his expertise in human organ-on-a-chip technology. His research integrates microphysiological systems (kidney, heart, and blood–brain barrier chips), mechanobiology, and space biology, with the goal of providing human-relevant alternatives to animal testing and advancing personalized medicine. He is founding Physiaura, an Okayama University-origin startup initiative in preparation for incorporation, which aims to commercialize organ-chip platforms for drug discovery, toxicology, and personalized medicine. He is deeply committed to international collaboration and actively coordinates reciprocal student exchange programs with partner institutions in Europe and North America.
